Homecoming

Homecoming weekend is always a time to remember, with all of the fun activities that are going on around campus. This year, Ohio Northern University was celebrating 150 years and with that, homecoming was bigger than years in the past. Many alumni came back to celebrate with all of the amazing memories they have created at Ohio Northern. Campus wide there were many different events that were held including, alumni soccer games, alumni lacrosse games, alumni softball game, homecoming parade, football game and many more.

This year was the first year that the lacrosse team held our alumni game. Our program is only six years old so this was the first year we were able to have enough alumni to come back to play for the game. This was a great experience to meet all of the people that helped start the lacrosse program. Additionally, this is a big weekend for recruits to come up. One of the traditions that the women's lacrosse team has is, attending the football game together after we have a tailgate. This year was no different, after the tailgate, current players, recruits, and alumni all gathered together to walk over to the football game.

While a storm interrupted the football, it was fun to watch the first half of the game as a big group. Being able to catch up or even meet alumni makes homecoming a really fun experience. Our team loves watching football so being able to all bond and enjoy the game together is always a fun time. I can not wait to be able to come back in a couple years and experience homecoming as an alumni. 1. Homecoming was such a fun experience! It was awesome seeing all of the alumni come back just to reminisce on old memories. While it did rain on our parade, it was still a fun day overall. I can't wait until I'm an alumna so I can come back and tell the stories of my time here.

  2. That's great that you still had a good time at the football game even though it rained. I'm also glad that you were able to have an alumni lacrosse game. I'm sure all the alumni who came back were glad to see that the lacrosse team was still around and had enough members to form a team! I'm sure it was nice to have the tailgate after the game to have everyone talk with each other, especially alumni who hadn't seen other alumni in a while.

Christmas Formals

Each year, Alpha Xi Delta hosts their Christmas formals which is one of the nicest events that we throw in the fall semester. This allows everyone in the chapter to get all dressed up and spend time with each other. This year, we were able to bring dates with us so I brought Megan. Megan knows a lot of the girls in my sorority because a couple of our friends are in the chapter so it was super fun to hang out with everyone. We started getting ready for the formal a couple hours before it started so before people could come to my house to take pictures and hang.  After some time, we all headed to the event and it was so much fun! When we first went there, we spent 30 minutes taking pictures of the different backdrops that they had set up. It was nice to have different options and fun to take pictures with everyone in the chapter. After some time, we went back upstairs and got hot chocolate and sat at the tables. Everyone talked for time and caught up with everyone else. Once everyone was

Welcome to Ada!

While I was just home last weekend, my parents wanted to come up for the weekend. One of the main reasons for them coming is Megan's parents were also coming up and this would be the first time they have met. We wanted to have a tailgate for the football game with them to get to hangout with all of our friends. In addition to hanging out with Megan's parents, my older brother and I surprised my parents by driving down to The University of Cincinnati to pick up my younger brother,  Aiden.  They haven't seen him since leaving for school so we thought this would be really cool for him to join us this weekend. When my parents saw Aiden, they were shocked. They had no idea that we were going to pick him up for the weekend. This made this whole weekend that much more fun!  We all got the our tailgate location in the late morning. The parents set up all of the food that was made and everyone enjoyed each others' company. A lot of Megan and I's friends showed up to socializ

Unexpected Visits

Ohio Northern is an amazing school but freshman year, my best friend, Kendyl transferred halfway through the academic year. She was unhappy on campus and knew that the best thing was for her to leave. I supported her knowing that Ohio Northern was not the place for her anymore but ever since, I felt like a part of me is missing. Throughout the remainder of the year, Kendyl and I would FaceTime at least once a week, as this was the best way to stay in touch and feel connected to each other.  Sophomore year came around and I was really struggling. I did not enjoy my major and was having minor roommate problems. Kendyl recognized that I was miserable and asked what she could do to help me feel better. I conceded that a weekend visit would really help. At first she did not think she would be able to, but after some convincing she made the trip. This was the best weekend I had all year! Whenever we are together, we always have the best time. Laughing the whole time, there is never a dull mo
