When looking at the content in chapter nine of "Essential of Social Media Marketing," the section of text that I want to take a deeper look into is focused on the importance of a company's LinkedIn page. When looking at applying for a new position, possible employees are going to be looking for information about the business and the LinkedIn page will be one of the first spots to gain knowledge. So much information is located on a companies LinkedIn page that will give helpful insight to how the business runs. While LinkedIn is not a platform I use now, I think when looking and applying for jobs it will become one, I use the most.
Though LinkedIn is not often used by younger teenagers, the site is popular for people who are researching companies and looking to apply for jobs. This platform not only helps potential employees, but also companies trying to get their name out to many people by simply setting up a LinkedIn Company Page. This type of page allows companies to find people that hold the criteria to work at your company and that would be a good fit. One objective that is forgotten about is that companies want to make sure that the employers are going to be happy working for their company. When people are happier where they are working, they produce better content. LinkedIn is a double way street, possible employees can look and see if they would fin in well at the company. At the same time, the businesses are also making these same judgements when looking at applications. These pages can also be very helpful to potential employees because they are able to see if they would be a good fit.Another aspect of LinkedIn that is useful to companies is the brand awareness they are getting when they have a company page. With just creating a page, companies are allowing people to interact and learn more about their business. When people are searching for jobs, they will come across different company pages, which will help with brand awareness and company growth. To many people, LinkedIn is solely a platform that allows you to apply for jobs. While this is one aspect of LinkedIn, there are also many benefits for the companies that are sometimes forgotten. When people are looking to apply for jobs, they are interacting and engaging with many different businesses which they have not heard of before. This helps the business get more name recognition, which in the long run is going to help them grow.
