LinkedIn

When looking at the content in chapter nine of "Essential of Social Media Marketing," the section of text that I want to take a deeper look into is focused on the importance of a company's LinkedIn page. When looking at applying for a new position, possible employees are going to be looking for information about the business and the LinkedIn page will be one of the first spots to gain knowledge. So much information is located on a companies LinkedIn page that will give helpful insight to how the business runs. While LinkedIn is not a platform I use now, I think when looking and applying for jobs it will become one, I use the most.

LinkedIn is down and experiencing website issues - The Verge

Though LinkedIn is not often used by younger teenagers, the site is popular for people who are researching companies and looking to apply for jobs. This platform not only helps potential employees, but also companies trying to get their name out to many people by simply setting up a LinkedIn Company Page. This type of page allows companies to find people that hold the criteria to work at your company and that would be a good fit. One objective that is forgotten about is that companies want to make sure that the employers are going to be happy working for their company. When people are happier where they are working, they produce better content. LinkedIn is a double way street, possible employees can look and see if they would fin in well at the company. At the same time, the businesses are also making these same judgements when looking at applications. These pages can also be very helpful to potential employees because they are able to see if they would be a good fit.

Another aspect of LinkedIn that is useful to companies is the brand awareness they are getting when they have a company page. With just creating a page, companies are allowing people to interact and learn more about their business. When people are searching for jobs, they will come across different company pages, which will help with brand awareness and company growth. To many people, LinkedIn is solely a platform that allows you to apply for jobs. While this is one aspect of LinkedIn, there are also many benefits for the companies that are sometimes forgotten. When people are looking to apply for jobs, they are interacting and engaging with many different businesses which they have not heard of before. This helps the business get more name recognition, which in the long run is going to help them grow.

Christmas Formals

Each year, Alpha Xi Delta hosts their Christmas formals which is one of the nicest events that we throw in the fall semester. This allows everyone in the chapter to get all dressed up and spend time with each other. This year, we were able to bring dates with us so I brought Megan. Megan knows a lot of the girls in my sorority because a couple of our friends are in the chapter so it was super fun to hang out with everyone. We started getting ready for the formal a couple hours before it started so before people could come to my house to take pictures and hang.  After some time, we all headed to the event and it was so much fun! When we first went there, we spent 30 minutes taking pictures of the different backdrops that they had set up. It was nice to have different options and fun to take pictures with everyone in the chapter. After some time, we went back upstairs and got hot chocolate and sat at the tables. Everyone talked for time and caught up with everyone else. Once everyone was

Welcome to Ada!

While I was just home last weekend, my parents wanted to come up for the weekend. One of the main reasons for them coming is Megan's parents were also coming up and this would be the first time they have met. We wanted to have a tailgate for the football game with them to get to hangout with all of our friends. In addition to hanging out with Megan's parents, my older brother and I surprised my parents by driving down to The University of Cincinnati to pick up my younger brother,  Aiden.  They haven't seen him since leaving for school so we thought this would be really cool for him to join us this weekend. When my parents saw Aiden, they were shocked. They had no idea that we were going to pick him up for the weekend. This made this whole weekend that much more fun!  We all got the our tailgate location in the late morning. The parents set up all of the food that was made and everyone enjoyed each others' company. A lot of Megan and I's friends showed up to socializ

Unexpected Visits

Ohio Northern is an amazing school but freshman year, my best friend, Kendyl transferred halfway through the academic year. She was unhappy on campus and knew that the best thing was for her to leave. I supported her knowing that Ohio Northern was not the place for her anymore but ever since, I felt like a part of me is missing. Throughout the remainder of the year, Kendyl and I would FaceTime at least once a week, as this was the best way to stay in touch and feel connected to each other.  Sophomore year came around and I was really struggling. I did not enjoy my major and was having minor roommate problems. Kendyl recognized that I was miserable and asked what she could do to help me feel better. I conceded that a weekend visit would really help. At first she did not think she would be able to, but after some convincing she made the trip. This was the best weekend I had all year! Whenever we are together, we always have the best time. Laughing the whole time, there is never a dull mo
