Blogs, Vlogs, Podcasts, and Webinar

In the world that we live in now, ways of communicating are changing more than ever. Blogs, vlogs, podcasts, and webinars are becoming more common ways of getting information out and promoting businesses. While old ways of advertising are still very popular, there are so many different ways of getting out information that have yet to be discovered.

The growth of vlogs in the recent years have changed the game of adverting. A vlog is blog that is in a video format. Vloggers, will take viewers on their everyday activities in a more personal way over traditional blog. YouTube has created a platform that allows vloggers to post to their followers and make money off of the adertisements that go with the videos they are posting.

Vlogs are a great way for businesses to show ads or get promotions in the videos from the vlogger. In the beginning of the vlog, there will be an ad that will get played, these ads are a way for businesses to get their name out because they have to watch the ad before the video. Much of the time, you want to talk to vloggers that post content that is similar to your company. This will have the viewer interested in the ad that is getting played and will maybe even interact with what they are seeing. Additionally, ads play throughout the videos and the same rule should apply, have ads that the viewer will be interested in. This will create more of an interaction with your company.

A huge way that businesses get money is through paid promotion with the vloggers. This is when the vlogger will promote a product in the vlog. This will get the name of the product out for many people to see and also the vlogger is talking about how they enjoy using the product. When businesses ask vloggers to have a promotion in their video they sometimes give them a discount code for their viewer to use on the product. Discount codes really help encourage the viewers of the vlog to buy the product. Vlogs have become a great way for businesses to promote their business and buy their product.

Christmas Formals

Each year, Alpha Xi Delta hosts their Christmas formals which is one of the nicest events that we throw in the fall semester. This allows everyone in the chapter to get all dressed up and spend time with each other. This year, we were able to bring dates with us so I brought Megan. Megan knows a lot of the girls in my sorority because a couple of our friends are in the chapter so it was super fun to hang out with everyone. We started getting ready for the formal a couple hours before it started so before people could come to my house to take pictures and hang.  After some time, we all headed to the event and it was so much fun! When we first went there, we spent 30 minutes taking pictures of the different backdrops that they had set up. It was nice to have different options and fun to take pictures with everyone in the chapter. After some time, we went back upstairs and got hot chocolate and sat at the tables. Everyone talked for time and caught up with everyone else. Once everyone was

Welcome to Ada!

While I was just home last weekend, my parents wanted to come up for the weekend. One of the main reasons for them coming is Megan's parents were also coming up and this would be the first time they have met. We wanted to have a tailgate for the football game with them to get to hangout with all of our friends. In addition to hanging out with Megan's parents, my older brother and I surprised my parents by driving down to The University of Cincinnati to pick up my younger brother,  Aiden.  They haven't seen him since leaving for school so we thought this would be really cool for him to join us this weekend. When my parents saw Aiden, they were shocked. They had no idea that we were going to pick him up for the weekend. This made this whole weekend that much more fun!  We all got the our tailgate location in the late morning. The parents set up all of the food that was made and everyone enjoyed each others' company. A lot of Megan and I's friends showed up to socializ

Unexpected Visits

Ohio Northern is an amazing school but freshman year, my best friend, Kendyl transferred halfway through the academic year. She was unhappy on campus and knew that the best thing was for her to leave. I supported her knowing that Ohio Northern was not the place for her anymore but ever since, I felt like a part of me is missing. Throughout the remainder of the year, Kendyl and I would FaceTime at least once a week, as this was the best way to stay in touch and feel connected to each other.  Sophomore year came around and I was really struggling. I did not enjoy my major and was having minor roommate problems. Kendyl recognized that I was miserable and asked what she could do to help me feel better. I conceded that a weekend visit would really help. At first she did not think she would be able to, but after some convincing she made the trip. This was the best weekend I had all year! Whenever we are together, we always have the best time. Laughing the whole time, there is never a dull mo
