Essentials of Social Media Marketing Review

Fifteen long weeks later, the journey of exploring the content in "Essentials of Social Media Marketing" has come to an end. I think that I have been able to learn so much out of this text book that will help me in years to come. Right now, after I graduate I want to become a social media coordinator and I think that this class was a great start for learning more about social media. I really enjoyed how we learned about each of the different platforms and talked to influencers and how helpful they can be for businesses.

When I think of social media, I think of the posts that I make or my friends. I have never considered all of the work that happens when a business wants to post something. There are so many different aspects of making sure they are getting to the right audience to engage with the post. These are so many important things that need to come together to make sure the post is perfect. Additionally, I think one of my favorite chapters to write about is the influencers. In a world where social media is huge, influencers are posting for companies more than ever. I see influencer posting all over and I really enjoyed learning about how  influencers can help a business so much. The layout of the textbook was very organized so it made it very easy to find my way around the text. This really helped me when I was looking for a certain part of text or wanting to learn more about a concept.

While at times, I did not always enjoy writing the blogs at first, I think this class has helped me learn so much about social media and everything it takes to make a good post. As the fifteen weeks are coming to a close, I think that I am going to miss writing the blog all the time. Additionally, I really love commenting on my friends' blogs. This class has been so much fun and I think that the textbook has helped me learn so much.

Christmas Formals

Each year, Alpha Xi Delta hosts their Christmas formals which is one of the nicest events that we throw in the fall semester. This allows everyone in the chapter to get all dressed up and spend time with each other. This year, we were able to bring dates with us so I brought Megan. Megan knows a lot of the girls in my sorority because a couple of our friends are in the chapter so it was super fun to hang out with everyone. We started getting ready for the formal a couple hours before it started so before people could come to my house to take pictures and hang.  After some time, we all headed to the event and it was so much fun! When we first went there, we spent 30 minutes taking pictures of the different backdrops that they had set up. It was nice to have different options and fun to take pictures with everyone in the chapter. After some time, we went back upstairs and got hot chocolate and sat at the tables. Everyone talked for time and caught up with everyone else. Once everyone was

Welcome to Ada!

While I was just home last weekend, my parents wanted to come up for the weekend. One of the main reasons for them coming is Megan's parents were also coming up and this would be the first time they have met. We wanted to have a tailgate for the football game with them to get to hangout with all of our friends. In addition to hanging out with Megan's parents, my older brother and I surprised my parents by driving down to The University of Cincinnati to pick up my younger brother,  Aiden.  They haven't seen him since leaving for school so we thought this would be really cool for him to join us this weekend. When my parents saw Aiden, they were shocked. They had no idea that we were going to pick him up for the weekend. This made this whole weekend that much more fun!  We all got the our tailgate location in the late morning. The parents set up all of the food that was made and everyone enjoyed each others' company. A lot of Megan and I's friends showed up to socializ

Unexpected Visits

Ohio Northern is an amazing school but freshman year, my best friend, Kendyl transferred halfway through the academic year. She was unhappy on campus and knew that the best thing was for her to leave. I supported her knowing that Ohio Northern was not the place for her anymore but ever since, I felt like a part of me is missing. Throughout the remainder of the year, Kendyl and I would FaceTime at least once a week, as this was the best way to stay in touch and feel connected to each other.  Sophomore year came around and I was really struggling. I did not enjoy my major and was having minor roommate problems. Kendyl recognized that I was miserable and asked what she could do to help me feel better. I conceded that a weekend visit would really help. At first she did not think she would be able to, but after some convincing she made the trip. This was the best weekend I had all year! Whenever we are together, we always have the best time. Laughing the whole time, there is never a dull mo
