Saturday morning, we woke up and Megan's parents made us all breakfast. It was super yummy and we all ate together at the dining room table. Being able to eat meal all together at the table really reminded me of being home and eating with my family, which made it very special. After breakfast, I went back to house for a couple hours to hang out with all of the girls that live with me. We played a couple round of Mario Kart before I went back to Megan's house to go out to dinner with her parents. We went to Tavern in town and it was super good! While it was not as good as our homemade meal the night before, it was still really good food. After dinner, we all hung out at my house for a couple of hours. Megan's parents went back to the hotel after some time and Megan and I hung out with everyone at my house till the end of the night.
Sunday was a sad day, Megan's parents were leaving. I came over late in the morning to say goodbye to her family. I love being around them and they have become my second family while being in school. After they left, we all watched some football and did some homework. My friend Emily and I decided we wanted to make game day dips so we went to the store and bought everything. We ended up making buffalo chicken dip, queso, and guacamole. They were so yummy but I had more fun making them all. After a long day of homework and football, it was time to start the school week again.
It was so much fun getting to hang out with Megan's parents! Her dad was on my team for flip cup this past weekend and we won every time. I think every weekend should be parents weekend!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you go to spend the weekend with Megan's parents! Parents sure know how to make you feel at home wherever you are at. I am sure they enjoyed cooking and taking you to dinner. While students get homesick, parents miss their kids just as much! I think it is important to have weekends when parents can come to see our college lives. My family didn't visit ONU last weekend, but I stopped by my younger brother's baseball game in Findlay. It will be nice to go home for fall break weekend as a reset before basketball season officially starts.
