Big/Little

Friday night was a very exciting night for my Alpha Xi family, I became a grandma! Last year I was able to get my littles and this year both of my littles were able to get their own littles. I was so excited for them. Becca has Abby who is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She is one of the happiest people and loves being a part of Alpha Xi. Katie got Maddie and I could not be happier
about this. Maddie was one of the girls that I talked to during recruitment and we got along so well. From the first moments of talking to her, I knew that I wanted her to be a part of my family.

Each year big little has a theme and this year was socks. So the big and little pairing would have matching socks and the goal was to find your match. In addition to that, my littles want to dress up in a theme and they choose Despicable Me. While I loved this idea, I got the honor of dressing up as Gru and they wanted me to go full out. While I thought this was a very funny idea, this did not set us up to have cute photos but I did not care about that because it was what my littles wanted so I went along with it. This night was even more exciting for me because my big was coming back for the night. That meant that we would have four generations of the cow family there!

After the reveal, everyone came back to my house and we made Buffalo chicken dip and watched a movie. This is what we did last year when I got Becca and Katie as my little so it was fun to start that tradition. After a movie, we all moved outside to sit by the fire and hung out till the end of the night. In Alpha Xi, my family is the smallest and I am so happy that we were able to grow this year and excited for all of the adventures that are to come with having Maddie and Abby in the family!

  1. Congrats on adding to your fam! I know when my little Abbi got Riley I was super pumped because our fam is just the three of us! It's so fun having a smaller fam because most people are still around and it's easier to meet up!

Christmas Formals

Each year, Alpha Xi Delta hosts their Christmas formals which is one of the nicest events that we throw in the fall semester. This allows everyone in the chapter to get all dressed up and spend time with each other. This year, we were able to bring dates with us so I brought Megan. Megan knows a lot of the girls in my sorority because a couple of our friends are in the chapter so it was super fun to hang out with everyone. We started getting ready for the formal a couple hours before it started so before people could come to my house to take pictures and hang.  After some time, we all headed to the event and it was so much fun! When we first went there, we spent 30 minutes taking pictures of the different backdrops that they had set up. It was nice to have different options and fun to take pictures with everyone in the chapter. After some time, we went back upstairs and got hot chocolate and sat at the tables. Everyone talked for time and caught up with everyone else. Once everyone was

Welcome to Ada!

While I was just home last weekend, my parents wanted to come up for the weekend. One of the main reasons for them coming is Megan's parents were also coming up and this would be the first time they have met. We wanted to have a tailgate for the football game with them to get to hangout with all of our friends. In addition to hanging out with Megan's parents, my older brother and I surprised my parents by driving down to The University of Cincinnati to pick up my younger brother,  Aiden.  They haven't seen him since leaving for school so we thought this would be really cool for him to join us this weekend. When my parents saw Aiden, they were shocked. They had no idea that we were going to pick him up for the weekend. This made this whole weekend that much more fun!  We all got the our tailgate location in the late morning. The parents set up all of the food that was made and everyone enjoyed each others' company. A lot of Megan and I's friends showed up to socializ

Unexpected Visits

Ohio Northern is an amazing school but freshman year, my best friend, Kendyl transferred halfway through the academic year. She was unhappy on campus and knew that the best thing was for her to leave. I supported her knowing that Ohio Northern was not the place for her anymore but ever since, I felt like a part of me is missing. Throughout the remainder of the year, Kendyl and I would FaceTime at least once a week, as this was the best way to stay in touch and feel connected to each other.  Sophomore year came around and I was really struggling. I did not enjoy my major and was having minor roommate problems. Kendyl recognized that I was miserable and asked what she could do to help me feel better. I conceded that a weekend visit would really help. At first she did not think she would be able to, but after some convincing she made the trip. This was the best weekend I had all year! Whenever we are together, we always have the best time. Laughing the whole time, there is never a dull mo
