Dad's Day

On Saturday, my sorority, Alpha Xi Delta held their annual dad's day celebration. This is a day that we have some activities planned with our dads. Saturday morning, my dad came up and I was so excited! Last week was one of the hardest weeks for me mentally and my dad coming up was so helpful. To start the day, a lot of the girls in Alpha Xi came over to my house to hang out before the real event started. This was a very relaxed way for all of the dads to meet each other and also all of us girls to just chill together. We had some fruit and drinks
for everyone to have. Most of the dads drove in that morning so we wanted to have something for them to munch on.

After the gathering at my house, we moved to the tailgate that we had planned. This was one of my favorite events that we hosted all year! While it was so cold out, we were enjoying the time that we were able to have with our dads. Some of the girls were making snowballs with the little snow that was on the ground and throwing them around. One of the dad's cooked hot dogs and hamburgers for everyone to eat and all of the other girls in the chapter brought sides to go along with the meal. I brought chips and a veggie tray for everyone to eat and all of the food was gone by the end.

Once the tailgate was over, we ran back to the house for a quick warm up and grabbed some more layers before the football game. It was so cold out and snowing but we really wanted to go to the football game. When we got all warmed up, we headed over to the football game and it was so much fun! I grew up watching my dad coach my brother play football so it was really nice to have him come to the Ohio Northern game. ONU won the game which made sitting in the cold so much better! We headed back to my house and it was time to say goodbye. This was super hard but I get to see my whole family in a week and I could not be more excited. I am so happy that my dad was able to come up and spend the day with me and I had so much fun with everything we did.

  1. It must have been so nice seeing your dad! I know when my dad and brothers came up for our ZTA Dude's Day I was really happy to spend time with them. Break can't come fast enough.

  2. It always nice for dads to come up to school and they make things so much fun! This event is so cool and it so cool that mom are involved and not just moms. Even though it was freezing outside I'm so glad you had fun!

Christmas Formals

Each year, Alpha Xi Delta hosts their Christmas formals which is one of the nicest events that we throw in the fall semester. This allows everyone in the chapter to get all dressed up and spend time with each other. This year, we were able to bring dates with us so I brought Megan. Megan knows a lot of the girls in my sorority because a couple of our friends are in the chapter so it was super fun to hang out with everyone. We started getting ready for the formal a couple hours before it started so before people could come to my house to take pictures and hang.  After some time, we all headed to the event and it was so much fun! When we first went there, we spent 30 minutes taking pictures of the different backdrops that they had set up. It was nice to have different options and fun to take pictures with everyone in the chapter. After some time, we went back upstairs and got hot chocolate and sat at the tables. Everyone talked for time and caught up with everyone else. Once everyone was

Welcome to Ada!

While I was just home last weekend, my parents wanted to come up for the weekend. One of the main reasons for them coming is Megan's parents were also coming up and this would be the first time they have met. We wanted to have a tailgate for the football game with them to get to hangout with all of our friends. In addition to hanging out with Megan's parents, my older brother and I surprised my parents by driving down to The University of Cincinnati to pick up my younger brother,  Aiden.  They haven't seen him since leaving for school so we thought this would be really cool for him to join us this weekend. When my parents saw Aiden, they were shocked. They had no idea that we were going to pick him up for the weekend. This made this whole weekend that much more fun!  We all got the our tailgate location in the late morning. The parents set up all of the food that was made and everyone enjoyed each others' company. A lot of Megan and I's friends showed up to socializ

Unexpected Visits

Ohio Northern is an amazing school but freshman year, my best friend, Kendyl transferred halfway through the academic year. She was unhappy on campus and knew that the best thing was for her to leave. I supported her knowing that Ohio Northern was not the place for her anymore but ever since, I felt like a part of me is missing. Throughout the remainder of the year, Kendyl and I would FaceTime at least once a week, as this was the best way to stay in touch and feel connected to each other.  Sophomore year came around and I was really struggling. I did not enjoy my major and was having minor roommate problems. Kendyl recognized that I was miserable and asked what she could do to help me feel better. I conceded that a weekend visit would really help. At first she did not think she would be able to, but after some convincing she made the trip. This was the best weekend I had all year! Whenever we are together, we always have the best time. Laughing the whole time, there is never a dull mo
