Thanksgiving Break

What a time to be home! All of the stress of classes has been getting to me and what I needed the most was to be at home with my family. When I first got home, I was able to sit down and spend time catching up with everyone with my family. My younger sister and brother caught me up on everything that I have missed the last couple weeks and there was a lot! One of the newest additions to the house is Cassie, my grandma's puppy. A month ago, my grandma got sick and just got a new puppy but she was able to fully take care of the puppy until she got better so she has been at my house and it has been crazy. My family already has two dogs and three cats so adding a puppy to the mix has been crazy yet so much fun.  When at home, that means that I get to work for my favorite boys, Nolan and Cooper. I have been working for them for three years and every time I am home from school I get to work for them. This week was very cold so we went on different trips each day. On Monday, we took a tri

Happy White Coat

Saturday morning, one of my best friends, Emily, got her white coat! This is a huge thing in the pharmacy program and I could not be happier for her. We spent all of the weekend doing different fun activities to celebrate this huge accomplishment. Over the last two and a half years of being friends, Emily has been working so hard to study and trying to learn everything to become the best pharmacist she can be.  When the ceremony was, I unfortunately had practice so I was unable to attend in person but she told me the time she would be getting coated and I watched it on my phone. After the ceremony was done, she went out to lunch with her family and then we went to the football game. Some of our friends played and we wanted to watch them in their last game for the season. Once the game was over, we all went back to their room for dinner. We do not get to hang out much as a big friend group because everyone always has something going on but this weekend, we wanted to make sure that we al

Podcast: Social Media and Effects on Mental Health

When thinking about a topic that I wanted to cover in my podcast, I wanted to speak about something that has an impact on my life. Social media has played a huge effect on people's mental health in ways that can not be expressed. In my podcast, I wanted to break down and explain how social media is affecting our mental health and what are some changes we can make to not letting social media affect us.  The first thing I did was plan out what I wanted to say in my podcast. I wanted to make sure that I was getting all of the correct information on the topic and the sources that I was using were valid. I broke down my thoughts into many different groups of what topics I wanted to speak about, this can be seen below. This really helped me record my podcast because it gave me ideas of what I wanted to talk about with cited facts within the podcast. Writing out everything helped when recording my podcast because I already knew what I wanted to say.  When it comes to recording a podcast,

Social Media Marketing Campaigns

Social media marketing is very important for businesses that are trying to reach their target market through posting on different platforms. The ads that we see when scrolling on different ads are all designed for the goal of the viewer taping and seeing what the product is. This job might seem easy but thinking about ways to get viewers engaged is harder than it seems. When it comes to social media marketing, there are so many different aspects that come together to build the perfect approach.  Before you launch a social media marketing campaign you want to make sure that you are establishing your goals. What do you want the campaign to accomplish? When trying to figure this out, think about if you want to build brand awareness, sales, increase web traffic, or generate more email subscribers. Next you want to identify the target audience, making sure that you are reaching out to the people that would engage the most with the campaign.  After you launch the campaign, it is very importa

Missing Home

With Thanksgiving break right around the corner, I am missing my family more than anything. I have not been able to go home since fall break and being away from everyone had been hard. I have three siblings and we are all very close. My older brother Patrick, transferred to Ohio Northern last year and it has been really nice having him at school with me. We don't see each other much but there will be random time where we will run into each other on campus or he will text me and ask to come over for a little.  My two other siblings, Aiden and Emma are still in high school so I only get to see them when I go home. Aiden and I have always been very close from a young age. My dad, Aiden, and I are a lot more advantageous than everyone else so we are always doing something crazy. I have found people here in college who are like Aiden, something about sharing all the memories with family can never be beat. Emma and I never got along growing up but when I got to college, we got super clos

Blogs, Vlogs, Podcasts, and Webinar

In the world that we live in now, ways of communicating are changing more than ever. Blogs, vlogs, podcasts, and webinars are becoming more common ways of getting information out and promoting businesses. While old ways of advertising are still very popular, there are so many different ways of getting out information that have yet to be discovered.  The growth of vlogs in the recent years have changed the game of adverting. A vlog is blog that is in a video format. Vloggers, will take viewers on their everyday activities in a more personal way over traditional blog. YouTube has created a platform that allows vloggers to post to their followers and make money off of the adertisements that go with the videos they are posting.  Vlogs are a great way for businesses to show ads or get promotions in the videos from the vlogger. In the beginning of the vlog, there will be an ad that will get played, these ads are a way for businesses to get their name out because they have to watch the ad bef

Unexpected Visits

Ohio Northern is an amazing school but freshman year, my best friend, Kendyl transferred halfway through the academic year. She was unhappy on campus and knew that the best thing was for her to leave. I supported her knowing that Ohio Northern was not the place for her anymore but ever since, I felt like a part of me is missing. Throughout the remainder of the year, Kendyl and I would FaceTime at least once a week, as this was the best way to stay in touch and feel connected to each other.  Sophomore year came around and I was really struggling. I did not enjoy my major and was having minor roommate problems. Kendyl recognized that I was miserable and asked what she could do to help me feel better. I conceded that a weekend visit would really help. At first she did not think she would be able to, but after some convincing she made the trip. This was the best weekend I had all year! Whenever we are together, we always have the best time. Laughing the whole time, there is never a dull mo
